That's bad; no, that's good for Quinn, pensions
Governor may be counting on lame ducks to carry the day
There was good and bad news coming from Gov. Pat Quinn last week. Coincidentally, it involved the same topic.
After the special session on pension reform ended with a whimper rather than a bang, Quinn announced he would henceforth be taking it to the streets. He said he will organize a grass-roots campaign to get “everyday people” involved and pressure lawmakers to finally do something about pensions.
Quinn didn’t announce details of the plan during his post-session news conference. He said that would come in the future. Now we’re going to have to wait a little longer.
