Politics – like Labor Day – just not the same
Used to be, this was the big weekend of the political calendar.
Labor Day was always the unofficial start of the fall campaign that led up to Election Day on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.
Summer vacation was over, and candidates attended Labor Day picnics, parades and rallies to kick off their campaigns.
