WEST DUNDEE – Barbara Ann “Barb” Eaton, 67, of West Dundee, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at KSB Hospital in Dixon. She was a client care manager for Provena St. Joseph’s in Freeport, caring for developmentally disabled adults, until retiring to take care of her mother. She had served in a similar capacity at Dixon High School, working with developmentally disabled children.

Barb was born May 26, 1945, in Freeport, the daughter of Alvin and Virginia (Jones) Sauer. She married Robert Eaton on Aug. 5, 1967, in Freeport. He preceded her in death on May 10, 1999.

After her graduation from Northern Illinois University, she took a teaching position in Orangeville. She was a member of St. Catherine’s of Sienna, Dixon Garden Club, Phidian Art Society, and was chairwoman for Beattie IS festival in Rockford. She enjoyed playing bridge, golf, and was an avid reader. She loved more than anything "doing tunes," singing and dancing in the kitchen with her husband, family and friends.
