Mumford fans roll into Dixon downtown
Local merchants happy with opportunity
DIXON – Four women have decided that driving 450 miles from Kansas City to hear Mumford & Sons and camp in Dixon is ladylike.
The foursome loaded up a minivan and came to Dixon to attend a concert on the band's Gentlemen of the Road tour, dubbing themselves the "Ladies of the Road." They wore custom-designed T-shirts emblazoned with "Ladies of the Road present the epic 2012 road trip." And silly socks.
Lorraine "The Hoff" Hoffower, 47, of Raytown, Mo., designed the T-shirts for herself and her three friends, complete with a black-and-white drawing of a woman she found by googling "Victorian ladies' hats."
