Reagan park receives donated lights
DIXON – It's all lit up.
The park abutting the Reagan Boyhood Home has received a lighting facelift.
The lights haven't worked since its new executive director, Brandi Langner, took over earlier this year, she said.
The problem since has been fixed with new donated LED lightst that won't have to be replaced as often, she said. The nonprofit just had to cover labor costs and other associated expenses.
Ten fixtures were installed. Unlike the old lighting, they're above ground, which should minimize wear and tear caused by the weather, said Randy Breske with Precision-Paragon.
Langner did not know how much the donation was worth but said it was "very generous."
The energy-efficient lights also should save the home about $500 a year in energy costs, Breske said in a news release.
