Golf: Kozeal medalist again for Amboy; Mustangs top Marcos

Dukes split in Freeport tri

The Dixon Dukes moved to 2-1 on the golf season by placing second in a triangular meet Thursday at Park Hills West in Freeport.

Dixon shot a 181, five strokes better than Rochelle. Ryan Dixon shot a 40, Dan Pultorak fired a 44 and Cord Schroeder had a 45 to lead the Dukes.

Freeport won the meet with a 152, led by medalist Jacob Nesemeier's 1-over par 37.

Rock Falls 173, Mendota 175, Winnebago 191: The Rockets beat a pair of BNC West foes at Lake View, led by medalist Andrew Tichler's 3-over 38.

Trace Hippen (43), Matt Long (45) and Aaron Frank (47) also scored for Rock Falls (3-0).
