Paper did 'little to assist court system'
On July 1, 2011, shortly after midnight on a public street in a residential neighborhood in the city of Sterling, Clarence O. Hopkins shot Shaevon Collins eight times with a high-powered semi-automatic pistol.
In the shooting, Hopkins actually fired 12 shots from the .40 caliber pistol with one of the bullets entering a nearby house and lodging in an interior wall.
Because of an extensive and professional investigation by the Sterling Police Dept., Hopkins was identified as the shooter and on July 29, 2011, was arrested in Chicago.
