Memorial ride set for Sept. 9 in Dixon
DIXON – The first Hal Maroney Memorial Ride will begin with registration at 10 a.m. Sept 9 at Veterans Memorial Park, 1219 Palmyra St. T
The motorcycle ride is open to all legal street vehicles. It begins at 11 a.m. and will end at 5 p.m. at the Dixon Elks Lodge, 1279 Franklin Grove Road. There will be silent auctions, a 50/50 raffle and a bake sale.
Maroney, 65, was riding his motorcycle when he was hit and killed Sept. 8, 2011, on state Route 2 near Green Acres Mobile Home Park, west of Dixon.
