Lanark man, 22, dies in car crash
MOUNT MORRIS – A Lanark man was killed Wednesday night when his car was hit by another car that failed to stop at the intersection of state Routes 64 and 26.
Spencer J. Atherton, 22, was airlifted to Rockford Memorial Hospital, where he died.
Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the intersection, about 8 miles west of Mount Morris, about 9:30 p.m.
