Attorney: Witnesses won't speak to investigator
That's their right, judge says
DIXON – The attorney for murder defendant Byron Adams told a Lee County judge Thursday that he's having trouble speaking with some witnesses as he prepares for the Oct. 1 trial.
Dixon attorney David Mandrgoc said his private investigator, Dick Sandford, has reached out to three witnesses, all of whom have refused to speak to him.
One said he would have to check with prosecutors or Dixon police, who investigated the case, before talking to Sanford, Mandrgoc said.
