PERU – Regina S. Pajkowski Maurer, 96, of Peru, passed away peacefully Friday morning, Aug. 10, 2012, at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru, with her daughters at her side.

She was born Nov. 6, 1915, in Peru, to Thomas and Mary (Kaszynski) Pajkowski. Later, she met and married Milton Maurer on Dec. 8, 1932. They moved to Dixon, where they resided for many years, and both were employed at the Dixon State Hospital.

One week after giving birth to their sixth child, Milton passed away suddenly on Jan. 21, 1951. Regina moved back to Peru to be near family to help raise her children.
