Harriet J. VanDerLeest

MORRISON – Harriet J. VanDerLeest, 80, of Morrison, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at her home.

She was born June 20, 1932, in Morrison, the daughter of Dick J. and Willemina (Vos) Bush. She attended Morrison schools. She married Donald VanDerLeest on June 27, 1952, in Morrison. Harriet was a bookkeeper and treasurer for Morrison School District for many years. She was co-owner of the former Morrison Locker Service with her husband, Don. She also had worked as a receptionist at Whiteside County Health Department and Whiteside County Farm Bureau in Morrison. She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison. She was a volunteer at Mercy Hospital in Clinton, Iowa.

Surviving are her husband, Don; her daughter, Linda VanDerLeest of Geneseo; her son, Larry (Sandi) VanDerLeest of Morrison; two grandchildren, Kyle and Shayna VanDerLeest; special family, Tisha Bush, Wesley Bush and Colton Bush; and her sister-in-law, Roberta Bush of Erie.
