Theodore M. ‘Ted’ Peterson

PROPHETSTOWN – Theodore M. “Ted” Peterson, 79, of Prophetstown, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed from this life on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Ted was born Aug. 5, 1933, in Morrison, the son of Raymond and Emma Peterson. They preceded him in death. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1951. Ted married Nancy J. Seger on Nov. 23, 1956. He was self-employed in painting and decorating for 41 years. He most recently carried rural mail for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in November 2011.

Ted served his country in the Army from 1953 to 1955. He served the city of Prophetstown from 1981 to 2001, as an alderman for 16 years and mayor for 4 years. Ted devoted much time and energy to his community.
