Smoking ban for local parks pushed
MORRISON – Area park districts don’t ban cigarette smoking, but health officials want to change that.
On Monday, the Whiteside County Health Department got word that it will receive a $210,000 state grant that, in part, will help it promote smoke-free parks.
The local agency is receiving the money on behalf of Whiteside, Lee, Ogle, Carroll and Stephenson counties.
