Lyna A. Loos

POLO – Lyna A. Loos, 68, of Polo, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon. During her career, Lyna enjoyed teaching children to read at Centennial School in Polo. She was an avid reader, and in her later years, a beloved grandmother to four grandchildren.

Lyna was born April 23, 1944, in Pampa, Texas, the daughter of Phillip Aurell and Eva Blanche (Johnson) Burkey. She married Arlyn Loos on Dec. 27, 1965, in Walnut.

Survivors include her husband, Arlyn of Polo; one daughter, Janell Loos of Sterling; two sons, Brian (Jaime) Loos of Cypress, Texas, and Jeff Loos of Oregon; one sister, Lois (David) Behrens of Walnut; one brother, Bruce (June) Burkey of Effingham; and four grandchildren, Sean Messer, Breanna Messer, Andrew Messer and Olivia Cathy.
