Events planned by Byron preseve

BYRON – Four programs are part of the August schedule at Byron Forest Preserve, 7993 N. River Road.

■ Perseid Meteor Watch from 10 p.m. to midnight Aug. 12: The free event is for all ages. Participants will meet at the Weiskopf Observatory. Register by Friday.

■ Midnight Fishing, 10 p.m. to midnight Aug. 17: The program is for those 6 and older. Participants should bring their own equipment and meet at the Jarrett Center. The cost is $5. Register by Aug. 16.

■ Burn N’ Bush concert, 7 to 8 p.m. Aug. 12: The performance, on the Heritage Farm stage, is free and suitable for all ages.

■ Field Museum trip to Chicago, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 13: The cost is $15 per person or $25 a couple. The trip is for adults, and participants will meet at the Jarrett Center before 9 a.m. Register by Friday.
