ROCKTON – Dennis Leroy Fane of Rockton passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012.

He was born Oct. 27, 1946, in Franklin Grove. He graduated from Franklin Grove High School in 1964. He went on to attend the University of Illinois and Iowa Wesleyan, before serving in the Army in Okinawa, Japan, from 1968 to 1970. He married Kathryn Jensen in 1974. They later moved to Rockford and had one daughter, Kristi.

He was an active member at Spring Creek United Church of Christ in Rockford, and worked for Verizon Telephone Company for nearly 30 years in Rochelle, DeKalb and Belvidere. He loved baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals, enjoyed collecting model trains, and was an active donor to the blood bank.
