Turn out for National Night Out Tuesday

On Tuesday, Sterling is participating in National Night Out. National Night Out is a designated evening when communities come together to take a stand against crime, drugs and disorder in their neighborhoods. It encourages people to come out to meet their neighbors and to see what is happening in their own neighborhood.

There are four parks participating in these events: Douglas Park, Lincoln Park, Propheter Park and Wallace Park.

Events will start about 5:30 p.m. and will include a meet-and-greet. Several activities and fun things are planned at each location along with some food and refreshments. This also will give everyone a chance to meet some of our officials, and the evening will conclude with a walk through the surrounding neighborhood about 7 p.m.

The other day, we ran a story about the Dixon Tourism Board's website, which is hard to navigate and missing key information, particularly about the Petunia Festival. Are we wasting our time examining local tourism websites?
