THOMSON – U.S. Rep. Bobby Schilling, R-Colona, is teaming up with a Democrat to lobby a Republican colleague to change his mind and allow the federal government to buy the state-built Thomson prison. Opening the facility would mean more than 1,000 jobs for Carroll County, officials say.
