Evelyn M. Godfrey

ROCKFORD – Evelyn Marie Godfrey, 78, of Rockford, passed away Friday, July 20, 2012, in Longwood, Fla.

She was born Oct. 4, 1933, in Rockford, the daughter of Mary E. (Schwartz) Nelson and Walter Gahm. She married Walter I. Godfrey on Dec. 5, 1953, in Dubuque, Iowa.

Survivors include her husband, Walter; daughters, Pamela (Robert) Kolman of
Longwood, Sandra DiBenedetto of Rockford, Linda (John) Tuite of Vancouver, Wash., Marilyn Kollie of Sterling and Susan (David) MacNeal of Richland Center, Wis.; grandchildren, Carrie (Andrew) Kratzer of Longwood, Ginger (Adrian) Lin of Naperville, Brent DiBenedetto of Rockford, Benjamin Craft of Elburn, Margaret Craft of Sterling, Laura (Mel) Payne of Richland Center, Wis., Christine (Luke) Olson of Superior, Wis., and Stephen (Amanda) MacNeal of Stevens Point, Wis.; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Edward (Nancy) Gahm of Augusta, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
