Farmers markets to accept Link cards
STERLING – People getting food assistance soon will be able to use their Link cards at Dixon and Sterling farmers markets to buy fresh, local produce.
The markets are among 41 statewide that will get a $1,200 grant to buy a machine that dispenses $1 tokens redeemable for produce, Lt. Gov. Sheila Simon announced Tuesday.
Vendors will redeem the tokens with the markets’ organizers. The state will reimburse the organizers.
