Blood sugar tests available Aug. 15

MENDOTA – Screenings for hemogloblinA1c will be by appointment from 6 to 10 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Community Health Services Department of Mendota Community Hospital, 1401 E. 12th St.

An A1c screening is a blood test showing overall blood sugar during the past 3 months. The test can help determine how close a person is to developing diabetes.

The cost is $20, payable Aug. 15. Results will be available within 10 minutes. Information and recommendations will be given to participants. Fasting is not required.
