STERLING – Joyce G. McMurry, 95, of Sterling, died Monday, July 23, 2012, at her home.

She was born June 16, 1917, in Sublette, the daughter of Jesse and Ethel (Mensch) Morris. She was a graduate of Dixon High School. She married James H. McMurry on Nov. 20, 1939, in Clinton, Iowa. He died in 2007. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sterling. Joyce loved to bowl, play golf and collect cardinals.

Survivors include two sons, Larry (Barb) McMurry of Frederick, Md., and Warren (Alice Ruth) McMurry of Sterling; her sister, Judy Wallace of Reno, Nev.; her brother, Harold (Dori) Morris of Elgin; one grandson, Brett; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Aiden; and her loving caregivers.
