BYRON – Susan Busser may have lost her 8-year battle with cancer in March, but she will live on forever at her favorite summer golf tournament.

The longtime partner of Timber Creek golfer Bob Venier was honored at the annual Saturday night banquet at the Lincoln Highway Tournament, receiving the first sportsmanship award the men have given out at the 90-year-old event.

“This is very special, and this means a lot to her,” said a choked-up Venier. “This was our favorite weekend of the summer, and I miss her dearly … but it’s great to be around this group she was such a big part of, who know how special she is.”
