No new attorney, judge for Adams
State’s attorney calls the defendant’s request ‘a ruse’
DIXON – Murder defendant Byron Adams wants a new attorney and a new judge. He got neither Thursday.
Adams, 54, of Chicago, asked Associate Judge Jacquelyn Ackert to remove his third court-appointed attorney, David Mandrgoc, because Adams doesn’t trust him.
He also wanted Associate Judge Charles Beckman off the case, because he disagreed with the judge’s decisions to keep Mandrgoc as his attorney.
