Weather service forecasts above 100-degree temps
CHICAGO (AP) — The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for northeastern Illinois.
The weather service is forecasting that Tuesday's temperatures could rise as high as 100 to 102 degrees, with heat indexes between 105 to 110 degrees.
Chicago's Office of Emergency Management and Communications is advising city residents to take precautions to avoid heat-related emergencies and illness. Executive Director Gary Schenkel says people should check on the elderly and the disabled to determine their wellbeing.
