Robert W. Crowe

ROCK FALLS – Robert W. Crowe, 80, of Rock Falls, died Monday, July 16, 2012, at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon. He was a forklift driver at Lawrence Brothers for 23 years, retiring in 1994.

Robert was born June 16, 1932, in Sparta, Wis., the son of Henry and Frances (Marx) Crowe. He served in the Army during the Korean War. After the war, he joined the National Guard in Sparta. Robert was a loving, giving and devoted father, grandfather and friend. He was a storyteller, jokester, proud man, strong-willed and stubborn. He was a faithful lottery player and had a passion for sweets. He enjoyed fishing, watching classic Westerns, playing Skip-Bo and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Cheri (Gary) Dunaven and Penny (Steve) Calsyn, both of Rock Falls; three sons, Steve (Rosalinda) Crowe of Sterling, Robert H. “Bobby” (Lori Younger) Crowe of Rock Falls and Donald “Billy” (Diana) Crowe of Sterling; one brother, Chauncy (Mellie) Crowe of Rock Falls; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
