Kenneth W. Smith
CANTON – Kenneth W. Smith, 92, of Canton, died at 12:21 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2012, at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria. He was employed by Freeman United Coal Co., retiring in 1984.
He was born March 22, 1920, in Bernadotte, the son of William and Helena (Helle) Smith. Kenneth served in the Navy in the South Pacific and Okinawa.
He married Eloise Yocum on Dec. 29, 1984, in Las Vegas. Kenneth was an avid fan of John Deere tractors, and enjoyed woodworking.
