Halgren arrested on gun charges
Missing man jailed in DeKalb County; ‘suspicious’ fire at his former home still under investigation
SYCAMORE – A Rock Falls scofflaw, wanted for questioning since a suspicious fire broke out Monday morning at the house from which he recently was evicted, was arrested in DeKalb County after police say they found a rifle, pistol, and ammunition in his car.
Ronald Halgren, 70, was pulled over in his green Toyota Tercel about 11:40 p.m. Monday by a Sycamore police officer who noticed he was listed as missing or endangered, a subject of interest in a residential fire and an officer safety risk.
Halgren told officers he had guns in his car, and consented to a search.
