On July 11, an event was held at the Rock Falls Rainbow Falls Miniature Golf Course. This event was a fundraiser for officer Nero. Officer Nero is a new officer for the Rock Falls Police.

He is an impressive German Shepherd whose life is dedicated to protecting and serving all of us in the Rock River Valley. The fundraiser was to raise money to purchase a device which will automatically lower the windows in the squad car should officer Nero be left alone in the vehicle and the heat becomes excessive.

This event was a success because Sauk Valley Media did a great job of promoting this cause with a fine story in the newspaper. It was a success because of the generosity of the owners of Rainbow Falls Miniature Golf – Judy Myers and Ted Owen. It was a success because of the efforts of my staff – Stacey, Debbie, Jennifer, Cindy and Christa. I also want to thank Sheriff Kelly Wilhelmi for his help, and Reise for his help.
