Warbirds over Whiteside
ROCK FALLS – Warbirds over Whiteside 2012 will feature at least a dozen warbirds, including T-51s; a B-25 and a C-130 that people can tour, Saturday and Sunday at the Whiteside County Airport, 10950 Hoover Road.
Vendors and concessions will be on site.
Admission is $10 per car, or $5 per person.

Who Else hog roast
NELSON – Who Else Inc.’s 41st annual all-day hog roast starts at noon Saturday at Who Else Land, 126 Anderson Drive.
There will be live music and food, horseshoes and bags tournaments, vendors and a tattoo artist.
The Kris Lager Band from Nebraska headlines, and Eliminator, a Des Plaines ZZ Top tribute band, and Trippin’ Molly of Sterling will play. There also will be a DJ.
Admission is $10 per person, which includes camping. Military members and veterans get in free with a military ID.
Proceeds benefit charities to which the club donates, and upkeep of the site.

Christmas in July
ROCK FALLS – Happy Tails invites the community to celebrate Christmas in July from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at 1017 Shore Acres Road.
Expect Christmas with all the trimmings: at least 15 decorated trees, a collection of Santas, a tour of the house all done up for Christmas, and a barbecue.
Weather permitting, kids and adults alike can ride on miniature trains pulled by a steam engine and a gas engine.
Lunch is $6 for adults and $4 for ages 4 to 10; younger kids eat free. The price includes one train ride and a tour of the house. Extra rides, or just the tour, are $1.

Oregon Trail Days
OREGON – The Oregon Trail Days Festival features events at Lowden State Park, in Oregon Park East and the downtown.
Saturday there’s a Native American and Western Heritage encampment at the state park. Admission is $5 for ages 13 and older.
There will be outdoor food, a beer garden and Western bands downtown. Sunday there’s an 8K run and a pioneer village at Oregon Park East. Go to oregontraildays.org or call 815-238-8672 for all the details.
Classic chassis and more
DIXON – The 11the annual Riverfront Classic Car & Cycle Show runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday downtown, rain or shine.
Register from 8 a.m. to noon; awards will be given at 3 p.m. Cost to enter is $15. Admission is free to spectators.
There also will be music by 3D Sound, a 50/50 raffle and food vendors.
