Skyhawks snag two Warriors: Kester, Aponte to play at Sauk in 2014
Sauk Valley softball coach Bob Lowe has kept up the Skyhawks’ tradition of making local products the priority when it comes to recruiting.
Thursday, the third-year coach added two more nearby high schoolers to his stable of players when Sterling seniors-to-be Stephanie Kester and Priscilla Aponte gave verbal commitments to Lowe and the Skyhawks. The two will sign official letters of intent this winter.
“I’ve followed them the last few years, and they have a very strong program,” said Kester, the Golden Warriors’ ace pitcher the past two seasons. “I think we’re both really excited to join them and be successful at the next level.”
