Judge mulls request to toss Sandholm suit

DIXON – A Stephenson County judge said Friday that he needs more time to decide whether to grant a request made by several Dixon parents and a local radio station to toss a defamation lawsuit filed by Steve Sandholm, a former Dixon varsity boys basketball coach and athletic director.

Judge David L. Jeffrey will rule on the motion Sept. 5.

Sandholm is suing parents Richard and Ardis Kuecker, Glen Hughes, Michael Venier, Tim Oliver, Dan Burke, David Deets, Mary Mahan-Deatherage, Greg Deatherage, Robert Shoemaker and Neile Petersen for defamation, false light, and conspiracy.
