Buddies remembered together: Grandfather, grandson to be honored with golf outing
AMBOY – Ronald and Jake Metzen were not just grandfather and grandson, they were buddies.
Though Ronald loved the game of golf and Jake did not, the two will be honored July 21 at the first Ronald and Jake Metzen Memorial Scholarship Foundation Golf Outing at Shady Oaks Country Club.
Jake was merely 9 years old when he drowned in Lake Thunderbird in Putnam on July 23, 2009.
Ronald was 73 when he died of esophageal cancer last November.
