Teen shot twice in less than a month
JOLIET (AP) – A 17-year-old northern Illinois girl has been shot in the leg for the second time in less than a month, according to a published report Thursday.
Malikha Mills was standing near a car talking with some people Tuesday night in Joliet when 10 or 12 shots rang out. Mills tried to run to safety but was hit and had to be hospitalized, The Herald-News in Joliet reported.
“She started to run for cover inside a residence and suffered a through-and-through wound to her right leg,” Joliet Police Cmdr. Brian Benton said.
