Heat spawns Asian carp kill in Lake Rawson
BUREAU – Last year, owner Robert Jaskowiak paid to have the Asian carp netted out of Lake Rawson near Bureau.
This year, the weather took care of the problem for him.
Passersby started noticing the huge fish floating on the surface of the lake at the beginning of the week; by Tuesday, Jaskowiak estimated about 1,000 of the invasive critters had died.
