71-year-old denies having sex with teen

DIXON – A 71-year-old Harmon man charged with molesting a southern Illinois teen in 2010 told Lee County Sheriff’s deputies he “dry humped” the girl but did not have sex with her, according to court documents.

Richard D. “Rick” Nelson, arrested June 8 and free on bond, made his first appearance Wednesday in Lee County Court on two charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

During the short hearing, Lee County Associate Judge Charles Beckman gave Nelson, a truck driver, permission to travel to Iowa and Wisconsin for work purposes only.
