State moves forward on $1.6B in capital projects
BELLWOOD (AP) — A bill signed into law says Illinois can move forward with $1.6 billion in transportation projects aimed at creating more than 18,000 jobs.
The projects include improvements to road, rail and transit, like adding lanes to highways and modernizing rail infrastructure.
Gov. Pat Quinn signed the bill Tuesday in suburban Bellwood and U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood attended.
