Record run: Zeman shatters course-best mark
DIXON – The heat was on, and so was Paul Zeman.
With a race-time temperature approaching 90 and air so humid it felt like an extra layer of clothing, the 19-year-old from Belvidere, who is a member of the University of Illinois
cross country and track & field teams,
shattered his own course record Saturday morning to win his second Reagan Run 5K.
Zeman bested his previous record of 15 minutes, 46.93 seconds in his 2010 win with a sizzling time of 15:20.15 at the 13th annual event.
