Teen critically injured in farm accident
DEER GROVE – A 15-year-old boy was in critical condition at a Rockford hospital Thursday after deputies say he fell off, and was run over by, a tractor-like machine in a cornfield south of Deer Grove.
Whiteside County Sheriff Kelly Wilhelmi did not know the extent of the boy's injuries. He declined to release the boy's name, citing the ongoing investigation.
The sheriff's department was called about 10:43 a.m. to a cornfield at 1402 Hoover Road, just south of Deer Grove.
