James E. Finn Jr.

STERLING – James Edward Finn Jr., 69, of Sterling, died Thursday, July 5, 2012, at his home. He worked at Northwestern Steel and Wire Co. for 30 years.

James was born March 1, 1943, in Sterling, the son of James Edward Sr. and Margaret (Meek) Finn. He served in the Army. He married Paulette Fikter on Sept. 30, 1967, in Sterling. James was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Sean (Candy) Finn of Sterling and James Finn III of Rock Falls; one sister, Linda (David Sr.) Campbell of Nelson; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Margaret Atherton and Rebecca Craig.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Monsignor Thomas Dzielak, pastor of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls, officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.

A memorial has been established.
