Tribute to Lucy, the white goose, one year later
After almost a year, I have been asked to write a little note about Lucy, the white goose, by people who had seen her for years down at Page Park.
I still have visions of what transpired on that day. The memory of what happened won’t go away. I still think about the person who rudely ran her over and was not punished in any way.
There was a negative follow-up to my letter last year, to which I was not ready to respond. But what I was trying to say is, the issue is not how much droppings the geese leave or whether they do or do not have diseases. The point is that a friendly goose had lost its life, a goose who was loved and adored by thousands of visitors and tourists who visited Page Park every year.
