National WWI exhibit coming to Veterans Park
DIXON – The “Honoring Our History” tour, which pays tribute to World War I veterans, will roll into Veterans Memorial Park on July 13 for a 1-day free exhibit.
The National World War I Museum has transformed an 18-wheel “big rig” into a traveling interactive exhibit, according to a news release announcing its arrival.
It features 66 artifacts such as weapons, uniforms, posters and flags. Visitors will experience the tight conditions of trench warfare, and see the relatively primitive tools, weapons, equipment and uniforms, amid sounds and sights of a war waged 100 years ago.
