Sterling School Board to vote Thursday on contracts

STERLING – The Sterling School Board will meet at noon Thursday to vote on teachers’ contracts and raises for support staff.

The June 27 meeting was postponed because a quorum was not going to be possible. The board will meet in closed session at 11:30 a.m. and in open session at noon.

The 2-year contracts being proposed for support staff include pay increases of 35 cents an hour. They also will have to pay more for health insurance, reductions in coverage that will mirror those teachers experienced a year ago. The district’s teachers paid 2.5 percent more for health insurance under that contract.
