More than 90,000 still without power after storms
CHICAGO (AP) — Thousands of residents are still without power in northern Illinois, and officials with Commonwealth Edison say it could take several days to restore service.
About 250,000 ComEd customers were left in the dark at the height of the outages after a storm swept through Chicago and its suburbs, knocking down trees and power lines.
ComEd says about 93,000 customers remain without power late Monday morning.
ComEd spokesman John Schoen says about 360 repair crews are out working on the problem and the utility has asked for help from other companies. He says it will take several days to get the power back on for everyone because of the severity of the damage.
