Rock Falls 6-year-old gets new chance at life

CHICAGO – Natalie Buck was winding down her first year in school as a Rock Falls kindergartner and gearing up for summer.
Less than a month ago, the energetic 6-year-old was riding her bicycle, swimming and running amok with her 4-year-old brother, Jacob.
Just a few weeks ago, she was lying in a hospital bed, sedated and on a ventilator, no longer able to speak, play or laugh.
