Meyers Leonard’s early departure from the University of Illinois became justified Thursday night.

The Trail Blazers selected the 7-foot center 11th overall in the NBA Draft.

His draft stock seemed to rise through the process as he worked out with various teams and showed his ability to run the court, exhibit athleticism and play defense.
