Sterling payday loan store fined
STERLING – A Sterling payday lender has been fined by the state for overcharging for interest on loans.
Check into Cash of Illinois, 603 Freeport Road, was fined $3,000 after being accused of improper interest calculations.
The company three times charged customers too much interest on loans, said Susan Hofer of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
