Man clipped by truck while jogging
STERLING – A Sterling man was injured early Wednesday when the side mirror of a passing truck clipped his arm and threw him into a ditch on Woodlawn Road.
Patrick F. Warkins, 57, of Sterling, was treated at the scene. The truck’s driver, Dolf Jakobs, 81, of Sterling, was cited for improper passing.
Warkins was jogging west on Woodlawn around 7:40 a.m. Jakobs, also westbound, was passing another car when he hit Warkins, Illinois State Police Sgt. John Clark said.
