No arrests yet in copper thefts, no tips coming in
ROCK FALLS – Whiteside County sheriff’s deputies still are looking for whoever stripped more than $10,000 in copper wire from a rural farmer’s irrigation system last week.
Whiteside County Sheriff Kelly Wilhelmi said Monday that no tips have been received.
The owner of a field on Buell Road south of Rock Falls called deputies June 19, after he discovered about 1,100 feet of copper wiring missing from his irrigation system. Deputies believe the theft may have occurred several days earlier.
